United Vistara new codeshare question

    so now that united and Vistara have a codeshare I ask this question because if the answer is yes, I will change my intra India travel from air India to Vistara with the snap of my fingers. Can I earn United miles, PQMs, PQS, etc from exclusively booking from Vistara’s Website and only having Vistara sectors? Or do I have to be connecting off a UA flight on the same ticket in either Delhi or Mumbai to earn the miles for Vistara? Thanks and looking forward to hearing back!

    From the sound of it you would earn UA miles on all Vistara flights. . However, we probably won’t have a definitive answer until UA publishes a Vistara earning page.

    Also United is pretty bad for not awarding PQD on partner bookings – so I’d assume you would only earn PQM and redeemable miles. But, would love to be wrong!

    United only awards PQDs for tickets issued by United. If you’re flying Vistara or any other partner of United, and United DIDNT issue the ticket, you dont earn PQDs.
