Unaccompanied Minor
I am flying from DCA to LAX connecting through PHX. In PHX my sister is bringing her kids ages 4 and 5 to the airport and giving them to me so i can take them to LAX with me. My sister does not have a ticket for this flight. At check in will they be able to give her a pass of sorts to get thru security with her kids and meet me airside while i am changing planes so i can meet the kids and take them on the PHX to LAX flight with me?
How long is your layover? It’d probably be easier for you to exit to meet your sister and her kids landside, and clear security with the kids.

Some airports in the US will now allow non-travelers through security, like pre-9/11, if you “check-in” at the counter and can show you are accompanying someone who is flying. Call the airline and ask if you can do that. Then call back and confirm.
