Turkish Airlines Miles and Smiles or United MileagePlus
I’m going to fly a lot of business class flights between Tel Aviv and the US. Since the cheapest ticket is most of the time is Turkish most of my flights will be using Turkish Airlines to get to the US. Domestic flights within the US will be with United Airlines.
The question is – should I use a Turkish Airlines Miles and Smiles program or should I use United Mileage Plus?
Daniel what’s your primary goal? Elite status with one of the airlines or just which program has the better award chart for redemptions?

better award chart would be my selection.
I’m unfamiliar with TK’s program so I’m leaning towards recommending UA. Given the state of other airline’s award charts, UA isnt so bad. If you’ve got a lot of paid business class flights, the revenue based earning could also be beneficial as well. Furthermore, you can transfer points from Chase UR to UA for awards. Plus, UA’s next Polaris route for their 77Ws with the new Poliaris seat is EWR-TLV and a Polaris lounge at EWR is one of their top priorities so that’s all great. However, a downside is that as a UA elite, you wouldn’t have lounge access for domestic-only itineraries.
