Treating my parents to 1st first class experience

Treating my parents to 1st first class experience

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi,.Lucky,

I have always enjoyed reading your posts, thank you! I am thinking about treating my elderly parents to first class flight from TPE to CPH round trip. They have only flown economy and are not fond of flying. I need 3 seats (one for my sister- business is fine). The time frame is August 2017. I would love for them to try Cathay First class, Singapore First, (EVA business), or anything you recommend. I have about 800K AAdvantage, 800K UR, 300K SPG, 300K AMEX MR, 200K Thank You, Would you please steer me to the most efficient redemption and my options?

    Thank you!

I’m not very familiar with those locations but SQ via SIN/FRA or LH via TYO/FRA might be good options or CX via HKG/LHR but all the ideas coming to mind seem to be two-stop itineraries for first. If your parents are very elderly would they prefer getting there quicker? Also, be prepared that depending on what airline you go with you may get “euro-first” or business on the positioning legs.

I’d probably use the UR points or Amex MR points for travel on Singapore Airlines or Thai Airways. since they both serve TPE and CPH, meaning a one-stop itinerary. It is a longer route though, since it’ll be via SIN/BKK.

If your parents are okay with euro-business, then maybe EVA TPE-VIE and Austrian VIE-CPH or China Airlines TPE-AMS and KLM AMS-CPH

The SQ flight to CPH doesn’t have first though, does Thai?

No, @Gaurav Thai does not offer first to CPH. I don’t believe there is an airline that offers F to CPH, considering even EK is taking its new J/Y 388s to CPH.

Unfortunately you’re not going to get first class unless you make lots of stops. Like go through London with TPE connect to HKG on CX or BA or maybe JAL through Tokyo. Singapore you’d have to go to FRA or LHR most likely, but they fly the 350 to CPH. There is very little first class over there. Even Emirates flies the 2 class 380 to Taipei. But, you have lots of options with your points. Great business class products however can be just like first. EVA as you mentioned but they don’t fly direct, SAS is really good and you can get a connection probably through PEK or NRT.
