Traveling to UAE from US

Thanks for your great site. I’m trying to establish something which seems straightforward:
Can someone with a criminal record for felony aggravated assault be permitted to travel to UAE (for business or pleasure) or, do UAE Immigration laws render such a person inadmissable, similar to the equivalent determination if a Citizen of UAE wish to travel to US?
Thanks Wayne Sachs

I don’t believe there’s a restriction, but recommend contacting the Embassy for specifics. The UAE issues visas on arrival, and it would definitely be annoying to get there and be sent home.
