Transferring AMEX MR between accounts

Transferring AMEX MR between accounts

    Hey Lucky (and everyone),
I’m considering applying for the Enhanced Business Platinum AMEX. I am wondering whether it will be possible to eventually transfer my boyfriend’s MR points to my MR account in order to get more value from the 50% airline bonus. (I am currently an authorized user on his AMEX everyday preferred, but this Business Platinum will be my only open AMEX card… and I tend to think it isn’t worth it to spend the $300 to make him an authorized user of the Business Platinum card.) I welcome your insight/expertise!

I dont believe you can transfer MR points to anyone – I’ve never heard of it. If it’s possible, it’d probably require a call to AMEX MR to request it and there will probably be certain criteria that has to be met first.

He would need to be an authorized user on your account as well, I believe. It might make sense for you to pick up a no annual fee card that you can add him to so as to make that work!

Thank you Tiffany! That makes sense.
