Transfer and compatibility between Avios and Q Miles (One World)

Transfer and compatibility between Avios and Q Miles (One World)

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi there

I’m relatively new to the benefits of using airline loyalty programmes, previously having just signed up to multiple schemes. Now having discovered how I can benefit from collecting miles I want to understand how compatible the various scheme are, as I cant find any detail on airline pages, I’m turning to you for help!

I have around 25,000 Q Miles from Qatar Airlines having lived in the Middle East. I am now UK based and recently purchased a BA flight quoting my Q Miles (One World) frequent flier number. Should I continue to collect miles under the One World alliance or start a new account with Avios for BA in order to get benefits?

I’m also thinking about getting a miles based credit card, if I get a Avios card, can I transfer the Q Miles into Avios points?

I have a similar amount of miles with Emirates, any advice as to how I should use these, given I wont be travelling via the middle East as much now?

    Thanks

25,000 points on all of these programs aren’t really enough to do something aspiration ally worth while with, so id suggest you keep collecting, also you can really ever transfer points between programs. with the exception of SIA to VA

I think what @freshthoughts meant was that you CAN’T transfer points between programs.
