Ticketing tim for AA award on JAL
Hi,
I called AA agent to ticket an AA award on JAL (which was on hold) last Friday, and the status in my AA account still shows “on request”. Does anyone know how long it takes for an AA award on JAL ticketed? Thanks.
It can be a very very very long time: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/06/04/aadvantage-award-not-ticketing-its-not-just-you/
AA sure does ticketing weird. I requested a CX award to be ticketed almost a week after an EY award and the CX award ticketed in a day. I made a date change and that was ticketed in 2 days. My EY award still hasn’t ticketed and I did all this via AA Aus. Granted, its for October so I’m not in any rush but its still boggles my mind.
David, my AA award on Fiji Air took months to ticket. I booked way in advance too and while it was a bit nerve wracking, everything worked out ok.
I know. 🙂 Not worried, just baffled at the process. o_O My other EY award (a few weeks from now, yay!) took almost 2 weeks to ticket

Is there a chance that the award space may disappear (i.e. grabbed by someone else) until it’s actually ticketed by AA? Thanks.
@Overland — Nope, the seat is held, the partner has confirmed the space, etc. You have a reservation, it just takes them forever to ticket sometimes. It’s ridiculous.
