Terrible Emirates customer service on visa

Terrible Emirates customer service on visa

    Hi Lucky
Not sure if anyone has experienced UAE visa issue with Emirates like I did.
I am from Vietnam so Im used to complicated procedures to get visa for any other countries.
However, this time, after reading Emirates website on their visa support services and everything seems easy, i decided to book flights to have a 4 day layover in Dubai.

The website lists all the options for visa and fees associated, in my case, i would need a 96 hour transit visa which costs according to Emirates website around $40.

One month prior to my flight, i log on to Manage my flight and apply for the visa, which came to my surprise costs a whopping $100.
This amount has never mentioned in any of Emirates webpages when i did my research.

So I went to Emirates office to report about this and request to change my flight so I wouldnt need to enter Dubai for my layover.

But the Emirates staff didnt admit there is mistake and misleading inaccurate information on the website and charge me penalty if I want to change my flight due to this.

I m in Ethiopia at the moment and even need to call to their CS number in Dubai, repeated my complaints 4 times as my skype credit ran out and the line was disconnected.
Apparently Emirates doesnt have the capacity to call a distress customer back.

I talked with Emirate support on Twitter but their staff continue making wrong answer about the visa process, or the fee. Which mean Emirates doesnt have a transparent process for visa and they rely on their visa agent VFS to deal with that and let them rip off customers with excessive fees.

In comparison, I tried Etihad website, they have their own visa online application, and charge the exact 50 diram $15 for one transit visa.

If you have experience in this problem, please let me know. Although i guess not many Vietnamese nationals travel through Dubai.
    Thanks in advance
    Thu

It seems to be $40 plus the refundable deposit of $272 USD.

$100 looks like the fee for a 30 Day Tourist Visa. Is there a chance you selected the wrong one?
