TAP Refunds

TAP Refunds

I had 3 fully refundable tickets in TAP Business Class (Top Executive) for June. TAP cancelled the flights. Even with the cancelled flights AND being fully refundable tickets, TAP has refused to issue refunds (they only offered vouchers) for the tickets. Have others had this problem? Or suggestions on resolving the issue? Thanks!

It seems a lot of European carriers are following this same process and are not required to give refunds. Still, it can’t hurt to push your request up the chain a bit. Chris Elliott’s site has a list of TAP contacts:

Be sure to follow his guidelines:
    1. Write a brief, polite letter/email to the first name on the list. Succinctly describe the issue and that you’d like a refund.
    2. Allow a sufficient amount of time for a reply before going to the next name on the list
    3. Always be polite.

That’s great! Thank you. I also wrote to the US DOT and they said a refund is required and sent a message to TAP as well and asked that TAP get in contact with me, and if they don’t refund, let DOT know. But thanks for this.
