Swiss air refused charge back
No refund offered from Swiss air for flights cancelled 28th March.
Amex issued charge back which they have refused, saying the Swiss Government wouldn’t let us in so it’s not their issue.
What a load of rubbish charge back resent how can we make them accept their legal responsibility?
Julie, you can try utilizing Elliott.org to find executive contact information. But, unfortunately, European governments have made a habit of siding with airlines and not consumers recently. Good luck!!
I am not sure if the same regulations apply To Amex, but “As per Mastercard’s chargeback rules, neither the issuer nor the cardholder have dispute rights when a service is not provided due to a government-imposed regulation”
Was the flight cancelled by them? I assume so since I was meant to fly a couple days before that and they blanket cancelled all flights. They refused to refund my ticket for months so I filed a formal complaint against them with the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation. They began administrative penal proceedings against Swiss after which they finally processed the refund three months later. Suggest you figure out the relevant authority for your itinerary and do the same. Extreme measures call for extreme responses! It’s the only way you’ll get the money back.
