Star Alliance Business Class Lounges in BKK access
Hi everyone, so in a few months, I plan on flying Air India’s executive class from Bangkok to Mumbai. Now on AI’s site, it says I will have access to the Louis Tavern lounge or something like that in BKK Airport. But really shouldn’t I have access to all the Star Alliance Lounges in BKK? Like the Eva Air Infinity Lounge, the Thai Royal Silk Lounges, and The SQ SilverKris Lounge. Does anyone know if I should be good to go? I would think so but can’t be sure. I flew KLM business class out of LAX one time and assumed that I would use the KAL lounge there, but instead, the check-in agent told me that KLM uses the One world lounge at LAX. I was surprised but I’ll gladly take that lounge over the KAL lounge. But anyways back to the point, does anyone know if I’d have access to all ST lounges at BKK? Thanks for your help!
Hi Rohit, I would think you would have access but did you check the websites for those lounges to see their admittance requirements?

Hi MidSouth, I did check all the airline’s websites for their Lounge policy and even the Star alliance website and all said the same thing: “lounge access is a yes for star alliance operated flights in business class”. I even checked the blogs of some people who have visited these lounges their rules say yes it’s allowed for Air India’s business class to enter. I just wanted to ensure that I would indeed be good to go. I’ve Set out a 10 hour layover in BKK just so that I can visit all of these great lounges, but I don’t want to end up only being able to access the Louis Tavern lounge for the 10 hours that I have in bkk as that will be unfortunate 🙁
Well it sounds like you have your answer. If they don’t let you in, they’re violating their own policies as stated on their websites.
10 hours seems like a long time, even with all those lounges. Why not head to the city for a few hours?

I’ve already seen bangkok on several prior visits, but this still Would not be a bad idea. Especially since ill have flown in on a long flight where I would get good sleep, I will definitely entertain this idea.

I sure hope so. Should be interesting. Thanks for your help! Cheers!
Hi Rohit,
I have actually flown out of BKK in Air India Business and I was granted entry into the Thai lounge, however, I have not tried any of the others you listed.
I hope this helps,
Alex

Hey Alex, that helps a lot. I would assume then that I would have access due to the Star Alliance entry rules. If not, hopefully I requalify for Star alliance gold by then. Thanks and cheers!
