SQ award availability from MAN to IAH in F
Hello everyone. I am booked in C class from MAN to IAH and requested an F class award ticket that is waitlisted. There are still 4 seats available as per Seat Alert but none available to be bought ?! the flight is end of December. Any ideas if they might get confirmed ? Not sure about SQ award release policy so close to the date. Have they retrofitted their 777-300ER ?
Maybe 4 others who bought don’t have seats assigned? Or maybe they plan on swapping out to their 4 seat 777, in which case you are guaranteed the new J cabin. I’ve read that the 777 retro is completed but I don’t have absolute proof. Maybe someone else does.
Try calling them and requesting the waitlist clear. They are good about taking the request. Sometimes this works, it’s worth the phone call. At the very least you will find out if there are actually 4 seats left.
Agreed — the seatmap really isn’t a good indicator of inventory, as crazy as it seems to us that some people would buy F tickets but not assign themselves seats.
Thanks guys for the reply. Called SQ and 4 revenue seats still available… Asked them to send a follow up. The reason why I could see them online is because they no longer sell F class on the return leg as they are switching to the A350
DONE ! upgraded to F. Now need to find out if it is the new F class ? From SIN to MAN it appears to be but from MAN to IAH not – how is that possible ?
I’m not sure where you are getting your info from but this route uses the 3 class B777-300ER, designated as 77W. They have 2 types of 777-300ER, a 4 class and 3 class. The 4 class has premium economy and 4 seats in first. The 3 class has 8 seats in first. Retrofit of the existing 3 class 777-300ER began in 2015 and was supposed to be completed in September 2016. Assuming the retrofit was completed on time this plane would have the new seats.
