SPG points buying/gifting/transfer

SPG points buying/gifting/transfer

Does gifting SPG points follow the same rules as household transfer of points?

I got the 50% off offer so I want to gift someone SPG points and that’s an option on the purchase page. Will it go directly into their account? Does it also follow a 30k calendar year maximum like if I were to buy it for myself? This person is not registered at the same address as myself. Thanks!

You can gift the points to anyone and they don’t need to be registered at the same address however you can make household transfer if not registered at the same addresss. Keep in mind gift points counts towards receiver annual cap. So you can gift 30K to someone and still be able to bay 30K for yourself.
