Single Cabin Flights with First Class Connection

Single Cabin Flights with First Class Connection

    Hi guys,

I used my AA miles for my flight through CLE-ORD-HKG-BKK next week. While the ORD-HKG is on CX F, the CLE-ORD is operated by a ERJ145 (unfortunately) which only has economy and I do have an overnight connection at ORD. In this case would I be able to get priority access and all of those Business/First Class perks at CLE? (I don’t have any status on AA) I have a tight schedule getting to the airport and the AA agents are not helping me at all when I ask about this issue.

    Many thanks in advance!

@David Choi, what perks are you looking for specifically? Access to the first class check counter?

So long as everything is on the same ticket, you should get most of the Business/First Class perks by virtue of connecting to CX F. That means you should get first class check-in, priority security lines, and possibly even priority boarding (although, that doesn’t really matter since you have to gate check all but the smallest carry-ons on an ERJ anyways). I think by virtue of the lack of a same day connecting flight you probably wouldn’t get lounge access, but that doesn’t matter anyways since CLE doesn’t have an AA lounge. The other thing you probably don’t get, and I could be wrong, is access to preferred seating assignments on the CLE-ORD leg, unless you have AA status to begin with.
