Schedule of Cathay awards with Alaska Miles

Schedule of Cathay awards with Alaska Miles

  1. Anonymous Guest

Hi Lucky, (or Tiffany or Nick or Ford or Matt or Travis or Mike)
I am looking to book CX flights with AS miles (350 days out) and the CX flights have been loaded into schedule, but the Alaska agents can’t see them yet since it is not within the 331 days for Alaska rewards. I don’t need Alaska flights tacked onto them so was hoping I could book them, and View from the Wing indicated that I should be able to (http://viewfromthewing.boardingarea.com/2013/05/22/planning-an-award-ticket-a-year-out-heres-when-airlines-load-their-schedules/ ) but the agent could not retrieve the space. Tried to HUACA but got same result. Any clarification on if I should try another agent or just diarise for 331 days out and hope the space is still there?

Hi there–I haven’t heard of that exception and not sure if it still exists. No harm in trying a different agent one more time but they may be right and you’ll just have to wait for the AS window to open. @Tiffany, do you know if the exception VFTW mentions still exists?

@Gaurav , I asked this exact question earlier this year and AK can’t see it, period. I saw the CX space available to partners but AK did not. Something to do with Alaska’s systems. On day 331 I called and they saw it. Patience Soltatio, it will be there.

It used to be that you could book AS partners once the partner opened their schedule, but that hasn’t been the case for a few years now. Have to wait for AS to open their calendar.
