Anonymous GuestI had booked an award ticket on qatar airways but due runway work the flight has been rescheduled which has extended my stay at doha to 15 hrs but they are not willing to change due to no availabilty , shouldnt they open the award space as its not my fault .

Ideally, yes, but your luck may vary. Did you book through QR or via AA? If the latter your choices are going to be limited since AA cannot open space on a partner and your situation is not critical like missing a flight due to the change though it is certainly inconvenient. If you booked through QR and know that there is an earlier flight consider calling back and seeing if another agent can help.
