Sanitizing Global Entry
Who is ultimately responsible for the Global Entry area at an International Airport?
I wrote to SFO because when I went through Global Entry on Sunday, not only was nobody sanitizing the finger print screens regularly, but there was also not hand sanitizer in that entire controlled area for after scanning your finger prints. Talk about a petri dish.
SFO did respond immediately, advising that they are working on it and have forwarded my concerns to the appropriate parties.
I found it very odd that this would not have been an obvious concern from the beginning, which is why I wondered if it was ultimately a local or federal responsibility.
Could it be because they too have the new facial recognition kiosks, where you do NOT have to do/touch anything, just stand in front of it, wait until the camera takes your picture, runs it through the database and it gives you the white paper slip to proceed.
When I came back to the US in January 2020 through JFK, that is what happened. I have to admit I was very surprised but the agent told me that this is now how it is going to be from then on.
No…unfortunately it instructed has to touch the crystal ball. Not a huge deal, but then no hand sanitizer. I would want that pre-Covid.
