rejected – IHG premier card

800 credit with 0 late payments and rejected for this card due to “too many accounts.” Is this just their way of trying to enforce 5/24 on this product? Currently going through the process for reconsideration…. another 2 weeks of waiting. Anyone initially rejected and then get the card?

@ IHG Spire — Even before 5/24 was implemented it was still possible for Chase (or another issuer) to decline to issue additional credit to a person who they felt had too much credit with Chase, or too many new accounts in general.

5/24 is a more restrictive policy that applies to certain cards, but that shouldn’t be interpreted to mean it’s a free-for-all otherwise. If you have other Chase accounts, and a card isn’t under 5/24, you may be able to reallocate credit.

    Hi Tiffany!

I offered to reallocate credit, but I was told that wasn’t the issue. I am certainly under the max cards I’ve ever had in my portfolio at one time.
