Redeemable Miles on Alaska Flying Singapore
Looking at buying that $1,300 fare on Singapore from AMD-SIN-EWR. Reading the post on here, it sounds like it’s 200% redeemable miles (in order to earn the 36K MP miles quoted in the post) but my interpretation of the info on Alaska’s website is only a 100% bonus (100% of the base miles plus 100% U class bonus), which would be roughly 24,000 redeemable miles. Which is correct? Am I reading the chart wrong?
You’re not wrong. AMD-SIN-EWR is ~12k miles.
An SQ business U/D fare earns 100% elite(also redeemable) miles (12k in this case), plus a redeemable mile bonus of 100% – another 12k.
However, that doesnt take into account Lucky’s elite status by the time he takes the flight. It seems that he’ll at least be Alaska MVP Gold – which means an additional 100% mileage bonus of the base mileage earned on all paid fares credited to Alaska – therefore another 12k miles.
So for his ~$1300 fare he will be earning 12k miles toward elite status, and a total of 36k redeemable miles.
Had he been MVP Gold 75k when he took the flight, the elite mileage bonus would be 125%
