Recommendation for MIA-DXB business flight

Recommendation for MIA-DXB business flight

1. MAP

Hi all,
I am looking for what the best business class product would be to fly from Miami – Dubai. My miles are well spread between AAdvantage, Delta, and Amex MR so I have plenty of flexibliity in that sense. I guess Qatar/Etihad would be solid options, but was curious on what you guys think about this. Would it be worth taking Air France with the A380 to Paris and connecting with the new business to Dubai for example? Am I missing other good options?
Thanks a lot for your input!

@MAP you probably should see what is available before getting set on a specific carrier / aircraft. To answer your question however QR/EY are better choices than AF in my opinion. Plus the A380 doesn’t have the new business class seat and won’t until late 2018 if then. Maybe you are talking about a 777 to Dubai, but I’d still take Qatar’s super diamond seat over the cirrus seat. Many think QR has the best business class hard/soft product of all. See if you can get QR out of PHL, JFK or BOS on the A350 with an AA positioning flight.

Hi @MAP, and welcome!

@MarkS is spot-on, and I wouldn’t chase Air France at all (but would keep it as an option if I couldn’t find anything else). The Etihad 787 out of Dulles could be a good option from an availability perspective!

@MarkS @Tiffany Thank you so much for your input! Will keep that in mind. The EY 787 does look awesome and since we’re a couple travelling together we might prefer that configuration over the super diamond one, which we had in AA 787-9. Don’t get me wrong, the super diamond seat is awesome, but when travelling with a partner one may feel too far apart. I will monitor availability and decide on the go.
Another option was Swiss but would have to book with KrisFlyer miles. They were asking for USD 1000+ in taxes/fees per pax. Is that normal with SQ?
Thanks everyone for the help!

@MAP Singapore will always charge the surcharge. But, if you want that flight you can book it with Aeroplan and they don’t levy the surcharge on Swiss flights. And it’s a reasonable 82,500 oneway J class to Dubai. Aeroplan is a transfer from AMEX
