Question about International Transfer on VX at LAX

Question about International Transfer on VX at LAX

  1. James22 New Member

    Hi all,

I fly into LAX on Virgin America from Cancun. Looking at the past few days (and todays) arrival info, it says the plane lands at Terminal 6. I have a connection to SEA on Alaska, which I also assume leaves T6. I haven’t flown LAX in years, so am looking for advice/info. Do I clear customs at T6, or do I have to go to TBIT to clear, and then back to T6? I have 2 hr 20min layover and am in 1st class the whole itinerary and have Nexus/Global entry. Thanks for help with this!

So I think how this will work is that the gates will be shunted off when you arrive, so that all the passengers will walk over to T7, which has a customs/immigration facility.

I’m not sure how Virgin and Alaska are handling bags in that situation, but would assume there will be a baggage drop after customs. You’d then re-clear security in T7, or T6 (if you wanted to walk outside).

But that sounds like plenty of time, provided of course that everything is on time. Have fun!

Thanks Tiffany! Yes, finger’s crossed everything will be on time! At least I get to try out VX first class from CUN-LAX!
