Question 1221

Question 1221

  1. Anonymous

    Hi Lucky,

I’ve got Avios I want to burn before the program changes April 28, 2015. I’m planning a trip to Berlin on Air Berlin from Chicago. They book 355 days out and I can book travel on April 27, 2015 for a flight April 16, 2016 and this is right in the range I want to book give or take a few days. Should I wait until April 27, 2015 to book (1 day before program change) or book something now and change the dates later; they say they will honor changes and they also say changes can be made on line. What are your thoughts? I’ve had experience with BA’s hold times on the phone.

@ Russ — Assuming the trends suggest that award space will be available, I’d probably book a few days before if you’re flexible and then change it, just to be on the safe side. It’s probably worth the change fee, in my opinion.
