Question 1194

Question 1194

    Hi Ben,
Not sure if you have experience with something similar, but… I have booked MLE-AUH-JFK for January, AAdvantage F award. sadly, A380 was no longer available so I am on the jet airways operated flight, plus i get a 10 hr layover in AUH… 🙁
i will obviously try to rebook on A380 if it becomes available… but if not, do you think Etihad will let me fly stand-by? or will they simply say regular F passenger can’t fly stand-by on A380 apartment?
    Thank you.

@ Lantean — Standby isn’t allowed on international flights. It has nothing to do with Apartment vs. non-Apartment, but rather in order to get on another flight internationally your ticket has to be reissued. While US airlines offer standby on many domestic flights, that’s just not a thing outside the US, for the most part.
