Wondering if you can help me out. I am an MVP Gold on Alaska. Recently flew American and when i checked two bags the rather surly Agent in Seattle insisted that i had to pay for one. Even checked with her supervisor and she concurred. Any frequent flyer with half a brain can look up and see that i should have received 2 checked bags at no cost. Not the end of the world as it was only $35. To me it’s the principle and an airline partner outta be able to read the partner agreement as well. I tweeted the airline and they emailed me and held to the story that I was only entitled to 1 free bag. They must have though i was only MVP and Not MVP Gold. Maybe they were confused because the AA flyers only get 1 bag free as a gold? beats me… At any rate, Do you have a contact person that you could privately refer me to that could clear this up? The truth is they outta take better care of partner airline elites than i feel they have in this case for me. Kinda pathetic and it sucks because i’ll be flying them more and more to cities in Illinois and i hope for better / smoother interactions….. Please help if you’d be willing
@ Junkie — Sorry to hear about the situation. If I were in your shoes I would email back with a link to this page showing the benefit very clearly written:
And then I’d mention how they’re the third or fourth point of contact that has gotten this wrong. I think that should do the trick if you show them the link. Good luck!
