Question 1120

Question 1120

    Hey Lucky,

I have a scenario for you and looking to see what is the best way to execute. Me and 3 friends are looking to book a trip to Bangkok (BKK) in August-Sept. I will be paying for all of the tickets upfront on one of my card as they will be paying me back. I have the following cards: Amex Business Plat, Chase Sapphire Pref and United MileagePlus Club card. I want to know what card I should use and which airline is easiest for mileage upgrades down the road. I am looking at ANA, Qatar and Emirates. Which airline makes it easy and most affordable to upgrade with miles (in which I can upgrade myself and +1). So here is a recap of what I have and what airlines I am looking at.

    Cards I have:
    Amex Business Platinum
    Chase Sapphire Pref
    United MileagePlus Club

    Airlines to BKK:
    Qatar
    Emirates
    ANA

@ John T — You’ll want to use the Chase Sapphire Preferred so you earn double points and don’t pay foreign transaction fees. In terms of upgrading, which miles do you have, and how many?
