Priority Pass

Priority Pass

  1. kv mke New Member

    Hi, all,
One of my credit cards has been providing me with a Priority Pass for a couple of years but I’ve frankly just benignly ignored it.
But, after reading OMAAT, I’ve realized it actually is a benefit that might be useful, even if not the best lounges in the world, since I usually don’t otherwise have lounge access. And, my card just increased the benefits to four visits a year, and I can include my spouse.
All of that said, has OMAAT ever had a “primer” on how to use Priority Pass? Nuts and bolts, for novices like me. For example, can we just show up at a lounge with our card? Do we need to pre-register somehow? Are there limits? Does Priority Pass just bill us if we go over the number of visits we are comp’ed?
I know all of these are basic questions, but somehow I bet that there’s already been a OMAAT article about it that I just can’t find.
    Thanks!!

While not a full primer, here’s a bit of the info to get you started:

But for all lounges you can just show up with your PP card. Note that some lounges specifically indicate they’re only for those traveling on international flights. Check out the lounge’s page on the PP website to see if that’s the case for the lounges you’re interested in.

I’d suggest downloading the Priority Pass app — it’s a quick way to check for lounge access at any airport you might travel through.

In addition check the terms of usage for the card issuer for your pass to determine whether you are allowed to bring in guests without an additional charge.

It’s much more rare these days, but I’d just add that I have encountered a couple lounges where they require you to have the actual card and wouldn’t allow you to use the app to prove you’re a member. Just a heads up

The lounge description on the PP App indicate whether a digital membership is accepted. But not all credit cards that offer PP membership offer digital access; varies from issuer to issuer.

    Thanks, all!
BTW, the article that MidSouth sent the link for itself has a couple of other helpful links.
    I appreciate everyone’s help/thoughts.
