Points Transfer From Citi TYP to EtihadGuest

Points Transfer From Citi TYP to EtihadGuest

  1. Alex UAE New Member

I made a points to miles transfer from Citi Thankyou points to EtihadGuest on February 9th. Until now, the miles have not showed up in my account. I have called and emailed Etihad many times, but they said they have not received any transfer request from Citibank. I called Citi and they said they had sent all the required documents to Etihad on the 9th. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the points to transfer? Also, has anyone had any difficulty with transferring points to Etihad?

I don’t really believe anything the customer service reps at EtihadGuest tell me. Based on all the issues people have been experiencing with Etihad, I find it likely that they are dropping the ball on this as well.

There’s definitely something weird going on. Ben has a post from a year ago where it took 3-6 days. There’s a post from Sara at MileValue from March of last year where it took 1-12 days. So it seems like the transfer should have been done last week at the latest. I’d see if you could get both groups on the phone at the same time.

Another example of EY at work nowadays. Someone reported they “lost” a small number of Agoda issued miles recently. How convenient. Why travel on them??

The Points Guy wrote about this today actually. Should only take 7 days. I’d take Mid South’s advice and three way call them both.

    Good luck!

I think I’ll try that today. Thanks for the suggestion.

I racked up some miles with them since I used to fly with them almost all the time. I’m based in Abu Dhabi, so it was really convenient. However, I’m taking my business elsewhere after this trip (if I can ever book it since I needed those miles). I’ve had all sorts of issues with Etihad in the past year that its not worth the headaches anymore.
