Paying for Travel with PayPal?

Paying for Travel with PayPal?

I plan to go on a trip to Galápagos Islands and can pay with PayPal but not directly with a Credit Card (I can pay through PayPal with a credit card). Will Chase Sapphire Reserve recognize the payment as travel related for the bonus points? Thanks.

It depends on how the merchant has their PayPal account set up. When we used to use PayPal for PointsPros, it would code as travel, but that’s something we had to arrange specifically.

Can you test it with a $5 payment or something to see, and then decide which card to pay the full invoice with?
