Open Lounges in MIA

Open Lounges in MIA

  1. Anonymous Guest

Since it is the home airport of the blogger, I am hoping for insight into what the conditions of MIA are right now for lounges. From what I can see, there is only an AA lounge operating–is that right? Wife has a 7 hour daytime layover in MIA flying a star alliance business class, but I am worried there will be no place for her to go. Ideas?

I was at MIA over the weekend and noticed that the D30 AA Lounge was open and running smoothly. They had an active bar, a very full array of food and was rather crowded. There is an area at the end of lounge that has chaise lounges in a quiet area where people lie down, nap, or play with computers.
Also, with 7 hours, you could exit and get in some exercise. As the airport is smack in the middle of the City, 10-20 mins by Taxi Uber Lyft will take you to most places as a quick escape from actual airport.

Rob beat me to it, but go in and go all the way to the left where you are overlooking the terminal and then keep going down that end hallway and then there are really comfortable chairs. I spent 2 hours recently in not so comfy chair until discovering those with only 10 minutes of time left.. With 7 hours you could easily also hit Little Havana for some Cuban food

Just realized you said Star Alliance… Not sure the situation with any Star Alliance lounge but the AA one Rob and I are referring to would let you buy a day pass? Although maybe not if not flying on AA.. Not sure, never done that.

My favorite peruvian is near MIA, called Salmon Salmon on NW 7th Street.

Adding it to my list for next time, thx. Just had some great Peruvian & Salvadoran in DC. Thai & Indian too, although those two I was expecting.

Looks like bloggers are stating the AMEX Centurion Lounge at Gate 15 in the North Terminal at American re-opens today.
