New Priority Level?

New Priority Level?

Just wondering if anyone saw the new priority board while checking in. This one has lists the Shappire status.

Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald are the oneworld elite tiers, which you would get if you have AA elite status

    AA Gold = OW Ruby
AA Platinum & Platinum Pro = OW Sapphire
AA Executive Platinum & Concierge Key = OW Emerald.

oneworld elite status comes with a handful of other benefits when traveling on a oneworld airline.

It also means that oneworld elite members of an airline that is not AA but is traveling on AA is entitled to use the Priority Lane.

@David W – easy to overlook – the board says “Shappire” not “Sapphire”. :p

    Nice catch, @ChrisR

Thank goodness American is revamping a new Boarding Process! It was so confusing to just about everyone. “Pre-Boarding”……. is very confusing. I hope it succeeds.

Yeah! “Priority” was about half the plane. Though I feel like for smaller planes, is it even necessary? Just have everyone line up and get on!

I think the term pre-boarding is hilarious. Reminds me of George Carlin. “You get on before you get on?!”

  8. Rob in Miami Member

well, David, anything George Carlin referenced is amazingly funny… and that mass of people with GROUP 1….. they believed (kinda rightly so) that they would board first – aka Group 1…….. the stress of that boarding process was too much……..

Spelling errors are funny. Went to the Dry Cleaners the other day and my receipt told me it was “PAYED”.

Also just noticed in the photo that it says EXEPLT. Isn’t the typical abbreviation EXECPLT? (Not being one, I wouldn’t know….)

Well MidSouth- there is VERY LITTLE benefit to being Executive Platinum. I can tell you. Very little.

  12. Donna Diamond

Up until this year when I finally made EXP, I spent years as a PLT and every time “Platinum” was called for boarding, the PLTs plus all the Citi AA Platinum Credit Card holders would board – basically half the plane. The new zone change is an improvement.

I hope so. We travel to DCA in one week (small plane so less of an issue) and wondering if there is any improvement. That crowd of 200 people, all ganged by the front check-in desk is very annoying. Very stressful.
