New home based, move to AA?

New home based, move to AA?

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi All,

I am about to take a job in an AA hub and am trying to decide it’s worth it to switch to AA even with the upcoming program devaluation.

Between the job and personal travel, I expect to fly about 30K-40K miles a year mostly on AA and generally in economy (not full fare). I have status with Alaska and feel pretty loyal to them. But because of the regular business travel, I would love to start getting AA upgrades and admirals club access. Is it worth it to switch to AA for these perks given that I already have Priority Access and other benefits from being AS MVP? Since I’m most interested in making my AA travel more comfortable, what other options do I have?

    Thanks!

@Stephanie with AA making qualification for elite tiers a little easier, I would not count on a lot of benefits from your base Elite level membership in AA. If you think you will keep requalifying for MVP I’d probably stay there.
