multiple entry visa still valid with new passport?

multiple entry visa still valid with new passport?

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi Lucky,

I recently renewed my passport. I’ve had a 10-year multiple entry visa for Brazil that I’d used on a couple visits the past few years and it still has several years remaining. Is this still valid with my renewed passport? Or do I have to get a new visa regardless of how much time is still remaining on the old one? The passport number changed upon renewal, so its not like I can take the visa out of the old passport and tape it into the new one. Thank you for your expertise.

Obviously the Brazilian consul would have the definitive answer on this but usually you’d just carry both passports to show the visa and the valid passport.

I would check with the Brazilian consulate just to be sure. I know 10 year China visas are valid in the way Gaurav described but not all countries play nice.
