Mobile Wifi Hotspot – Recommendations?

Mobile Wifi Hotspot – Recommendations?

  1. Anonymous Guest

I wanted to get your recommendations on mobile wifi hotspot that is unlocked and can be used internationally – do you have any recommendations. I am looking for a mobile wifi hotspot that is unlocked so that I can buy a local data sim, stick it into the mobile wifi hotspot, and then connect my electronic devices to wifi through the mobile wifi hotspot using cellular data (usually faster and more reliable than the standard internet in some countries). Any recommendations you have would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    We use this one! http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/go/mobile-wifi

Good battery life and signal, charges over USB, no issues.

Why not buy an inexpensive world unlocked phone and use the tethering feature. There are many android phones. I used to use a hot spot but not anymore. One less thing to carry and charge.

If you have multiple devices (or travelers) then the hot spot really works best, in my experience. I can tether with my phone as well, but almost always default to the MiFi — it’s smaller than a deck of cards, so doesn’t take much space at all.

But again, everyone has their own preferences when it comes to this stuff.

I agree. I use my phone’s tethering capability to fore my laptop and ipad. I did not have the need to look for running more than 2 devices. So phone works for me. As you said, YMMV.
