Mexican Banks

Mexican Banks

I have both Visa and MasterCard debit cards. I agree with your conclusion that MasterCard is better. I live in Mexico and have watched as ATM fees have skyrocketed. Some banks at over 70 pesos ( about US$ 3.50 ). Another troubling trend is for the bank to set their own exchange rate. Some will offer you a rate and ask if you accept it, if you decline, they will give you the card rate. Others you have to decline and walk away. On a US$ 365 exchange for pesos the difference was US$14. Does Visa and MasterCard know about this? Gracias
