Mattress Pad/Pajamas

Mattress Pad/Pajamas

I am trying to figure out/keep track of what to expect on my 5 upcoming long haul flights for a trip to Asia/Australia. I dont have the best back so hoping for mattress pads. On the pajama front, just want to figure out if i need sweat pants or not…

I cant imagine someone has flown all 5 of these flights but maybe between a few of you I will be able to get the info..

Just including the 5 long haul flights, obviously my HKG to PVG and SYD to MEL arent going to have a pad or Pj’s

AA from DFW to NRT- Business
JAL from NRT to SIN- Business
BA from SIN to SYD- First
VA from MEL to HKG- Business
Delta from PVG to LAX- Business

All those Business class flights dont have a First class if that matters…

Anyways i know this probably one of the lesser important questions posted on here but if you happen to know if a mattress pad and/or pajamas are provided on these 5 flights i would appreciate you letting me know

Thanks in advance

AA only offers PJs and mattress pads on DFW-HKG and LAX-HKG/SYD/AKL, not to NRT, unfortunately.

And I don’t think JAL offers either on NRT to SIN, which is scheduled for less than 7 hours.

And it looks like DL does not offer pajamas anymore:

And unless things have changed in the last 15 months, no mattress pads either:

[I]”Delta doesn’t provide mattress pads like its domestic competitors American and United do in their business-class cabins, but these seats are very comfortable on their own, and often I get too hot while trying to sleep if there’s another layer of bedding to deal with.”

Finally, not sure about the BA flight. I am fairly certain that BA F includes pajamas and a mattress pad, but SYD to SIN is barely 8 hours. I don’t know if they offer it on every route.

Virgin Australia offers both in business – see Lucky’s review:

But again, MEL to HKG is about 9 hours versus 14.5 for MEL – LAX, so YMMV.

Wow this is totally unreal to me. How can it be a 13 hour & 35 minute listed (12 in reality probably) and you dont get a mattress pad? The Pajamas are one thing, i mean i can bring sweats or gym shorts but a matttress pad. So how is it any diff than flying in that same BE Super Diamond seat on my LAX to DFW flight i take once a month? I really cant believe i dont get a mattress pad on such a long flight. I have to make sure to get an extra blanket i guess. One blanket as theh “pad” and one as an actual blanket.

I now recall reading the same Delta post you linked and ya so PJ’s or pads on an 11 hour flight home.

JAL i was just now able to find something- i get PJ’s but NO mattress pad

Do you happen to know on the BA from SIN to SYD or MEL to HKG on VA? i cant find a statement

Sorry just see you wrote about Virgin and BA above. Thanks. Guess i will have to just wait and see on those 2

You might get PJs on the BA flight. I got them on the 9h IAH-LHR flight in F.

Try tweeting Virgin & BA to see if they respond!
