Lounge Access JFK (Arrive EY F depart CX F)
Hello everyone!
I have a flight coming up in a few weeks where I have a long layover at JFK by arriving in F on EY and departing on CX in F which concludes in YVR (This trip is on the same PNR via booked through AA w/miles)
My question is would I be able to access AA Flagship lounge with this intinerary? Based off EY not being part of OW even though they are partners with AA and my CX leg not being considered “international” I would say NO….but the fact that it is on the same PNR as a partner flight EY arriving internationally on the same day I figured I MIGHT have a shot?
Also, since it is on the same booking, would EY be able to check me in for my CX flight in AUH so I can at least have a boarding pass? Many thanks!
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Etihad uses Terminal 4 but there is no arrival lounge access. I’m not sure EY can issue a CX boarding pass. CX couldnt issue my EY boarding passes in HKG. Remember to pick up your bags! Even if they’re tagged thru to YVR on CX, JFK makes you pick them up (unless this policy has changed since EY arrivals are considered domestic).
Cathay departs out of Terminal 7. Terminals are not connected airside. Use the Airtrain to get to T7 – its free when going inter-terminal. At T7, you’ll get access to the BA Galleries lounge. Not the most fantastic of places to spend time though. It might be worth going into the city or somewhere in Queens to pass time.
Accessing the Flagship lounge isnt possible because American uses Terminal 8 and you wouldnt be allowed in past security with a Cathay boarding pass.
Thanks for the info! Thankfully no checked baggage, but was wondering if I am able to get to a CX check in counter when they are open for an earlier flight (mine doesnt depart until almost 10pm) if they could issue me a BP and could go kill some time at the Flagship lounge…I have had success before accessing different terminals at JFK than the one im flying out of as long as a have BP…
Just thinking if AA would allow me to access with my stated intinerary. Again, thanks for all the info and appreciate the response!
If Cathay at T7 is open for check in on one of their flights, you shouldn’t have a problem getting a boarding pass even if your flight is later in the day.
