Looking to spend 700k points on an awesome honeymoon…need ideas!

Looking to spend 700k points on an awesome honeymoon…need ideas!

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi All,

I currently have a relatively large point balance, and would like to use as much as is needed on an awesome honeymoon this fall. Would love to source ideas for the “ultimate” trip should anyone be inclined! Our home airport is DEN and we’ll have about 10 days.

    Point balances:

    – 350,000 Chase UR points
    – 340,000 Citi TY points
    – 90k AA miles
    – 90k Alaska miles
    – 50k BA avios
    – 60k Hyatt points

    Ideas:

    – Bali + Java Amans at $550/nt on certain dates seems like a good deal
    – Maldives + stopover (IST/AUH/DBX) though Oman interests us
    – Would like to take a “wow” F flight but they just don’t seem to work (No SQ suites to the US anymore, Etihad apartments only on one route, etc.)
    – I know so much is subjective, but just seeing what ideas people might have.

    Thanks!!!

If you can boost your AA balance a little bit, you can use the AA and AS miles to fly F on Cathay or Japan Airlines, which are both fantastic.

If you can find 2 seats on Etihad’s Apartments from JFK, it’d be a good use of the CitiTY points, even if you have to get a separate positioning flight from DEN. SQ Suites are still on JFK-FRA-SIN.

Korean Air is a decent way to fly, or your Chase UR points can be transferred to UA to book Star Alliance flights. EVA has a great business Class, ANA has a wonderful First Class.

Thanks, David! Forgot about the JFK-FRA route using the old 380. That would be great, though I bet 2 saver suites would be tough.

Leaning towards SQ J on the A350 from LA or SFO..Seems like tons of availability and would position us nicely for Bali.

    Thanks again!

You can get 2 saver awards for JFK => FRA => SIN at the very beginning of the schedule. They disappear soon after becoming available

Daniel, if you think that you want to go to Southeast Asia, I would recommend booking two business class seats on the dates you want on Singapore (California to SIN)… like yesterday.

Singapore’s redeposit fees are pretty low, and there is no guarantee those flights will be there still in a month. Personally, I’d be very happy to get that monster 15 hour flight booked on the right dates, and fill in the blanks later on!
