Kuala Lumpur terminal hotel
Had a question about logistics at Kuala Lumpur Airport. We’ll be flying from Washington DC to KUL on Qatar Airways and landing around 9:30pm. The next morning we leave KUL for Bali on Malindo Air. KUL has a terminal hotel (Sama Sama Express) so that you don’t have to exit the terminal/customs and don’t have to retrieve your bags – as long as they are checked through to your final destination, in this case Bali. Question is how would I check my bags through to Bali on two different airlines, so we don’t have to leave the terminal? Thanks for any help! – Mark
@MarkW33, first you’d have to find out if QR and Malindo have an agreement to interline luggage. I don’t currently have access to that but someone here might be able to look that up. Even with that and an overnight transfer your success in transferring luggage will depend on the agent you get at check in. Be prepared for having to leave the secure area to get your luggage. You’re probably safest if you can travel with just a carry on.

@Gaurav, Thank you! This is really helpful information, and you’re right, better be safe and exit the terminal and then re-enter. Much appreciated!
