Kris flyer points on Lufthansa
Dear Lucky
I have a Singapore airlines kris flyer account, am I able to use my kris flyer points to book a Lufthansa flight? for example I want to book a business class one-way from LAX-BHX and I notice there is award space available on the miles and more website at 52,000miles – do I need to ring Kris Flyer to make the booking?
Be grateful for any advice you could offer.
@Fabrice The miles and more site availability is only for miles and more point redemptions. Any Star Alliance carrier’s program, such as Krisflyer or United can only redeem on flights that Lufthansa releases to the partners. Lufthansa is very stingy when it comes to that. Business class rewards are typically seen 1-2 months in advance while first class is 14 days in advance. You can search on United. If United shows the availability then you can call Krisflyer and book with Krisflyer points.

Thankyou, very helpful indeed.
If you find availability that KrisFlyer can book, it’s based on their award chart. One way business class for North American to Europe is 65k KrisFlyer miles.
However, a KF award chart devaluation was just announced, taking effect for bookings made on and after March 23. Not sure if there are also changes for their Star Alliance chart so you might want to book in the next few weeks, if possible.
