KE Award ticket – mixed class booking?

KE Award ticket – mixed class booking?

  1. mjonis New Member

I am trying to price KE award availability either from US to MLE or the return (MLE to US) via ICN/SIN/anything.

A few months ago I was able to use the online booking engine and find quite a few seats for 2 people for what was then Feb 2020 in F.

However, now *nothing* comes up as available for basically January 2020 through the 1st week of May 2020.

Then I remembered that KE is getting rid of F on the short routes. Sure enough, if I change to “prestige”, then flights show up.

But I don’t want to fly prestige from say, JFK/ORD/ATL/etc. to ICN (or vice versa, etc.) However, it seems that while the original “F” all the way was 210,000 miles (for 2 one-way tickets), if I price out separately it’s 250,000 miles for 2 tickets.

Is this something you have to call in for, since it seems the website is incapable of doing a mixed-class booking?

Also, seems KE has tightened up award availability tremendously. Booking out as far as I can, there’s one seat (if that) like once/10 days or something. Even had economy tickets come up with zero/zilch.
