June flight london to Tokyo

June flight london to Tokyo

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hey!
We have a flight booked to Tokyo from london on June 6th on BA. What do you think the chances are of that flight and the lockdown in Japan ending by then?
Would you suggest moving back to September or even November?

    thanks,

Ending completely by June 6th? Slim to none 🙂

I think there is a good chance your flight will operate as some restrictions may be gone by then, but personally I’ve already cancelled trips as far out as July.

Only you can decide what you are comfortable with, but I’d bet that international travel will still be restricted in some capacity in early June, and I’d still be prepared for some form of self-quarantine whenever you return home.

I mean, do you want to travel? If so I’d guess that by June the flight may still operate, but I certainly wouldn’t be going anywhere. If you don’t have a problem going then you could just wait and see, in any event BA should change it to another date for you free of charge.
    Your choice really!

Currently, you can’t enter Japan. I doubt they will allow entry by foreigners as soon as your June flight. I’d push the trip back as long as possible. I am currently scheduled to resume travel to the EU in late October and that may not occur if the borders remain closed or they decide not to admit travelers from non EU member nations or if the airlines refuse to fly given low demand. There are currently so many moving parts, it is impossible to predict. Again, wait until your flight cancels, get your refund and be patient and see if the dynamics make a positive shift, either with the virus or the above factors.

The airplane might fly – but Gia is correct: you cannot enter Japan right now. When the Japanese government will ease restrictions enough to allow foreigners to enter is anyone’s guess. Even if entry is allowed, you may still be required to isolate for a length of time. I would push the trip back to September at a minimum. If conditions change, you can always pull it forward.
