Hi, I’ve flown JAL business on the Apex Suite 777 several times and was always able to select a window seat in advance. But I feel like I read somewhere that JAL is now blocking Apex Suite window seat assignments for award tickets but I can’t remember where that was and I never saw it mentioned anywhere again. Can anyone confirm if it’s still possible to select a window Apex Suite in JAL business on the 777 and/or 787? Thanks!

Hi kw, I know of at least one other poster here who is blocked from certain seats on award travel. I thought he was able to snag a window, but only in rows 7 / 8 / 9 on the 777, not forward of the door, even though rows 3 and 4 had open seats. I think if you have OneWorld Emerald status you can select any seat on an award.

Hi, yup thats me, JAL in J from HND to SIN and I am stuck in the 2nd J cabin with the entire plane boarding past you and possibly close to crying babies of Coach. Spoke to JAL and I cant do anything about until same day at HND where if a window seat is open in the forward cabin I can get it.

As long as you can get a window seat in Apex you will be good, even if its in the 2nd cabin. Although I dont know JAL that well so is there even a 2nd J cabin on your plane? If there isnt and you are totally blocked from any window seat that would be a huge bummer, and especially in an Apex set up.
