JAL Business Class Vegetarian meal

JAL Business Class Vegetarian meal

  1. Mikewarren1000

Maybe a long shot but has anyone flown Biz on JAL and happened to order the Veg meal? If so how was it?

I have looked at their menu for the last 3 months now and its always Beef and Salmon. I dont eat beef and although I love fish the 1 fish i dont like is Salmon. Chicken, Duck, Halibut, Scallops i would be all over. However, 3 straight menus have been a Beef and a Salmon. Unlike US carriers i am not seeing the pasta option you always get. So i was thinking instead of being stuck with 2 things i dont eat or dont like i would try the Veg meal. If anyone has had it on JAL can you let me know how it was and what it was

    Thanks

Just doing a quick perusal of JAL’s site, and it says every western meal comes with beef. Interesting. It does say there are chicken meals loaded, but cannot be reserved in advance. I have not tried the Vegetarian. But why don’t you go out on a limb and try the Japanese meal. Likely seafood. From the photos looks like cod or sea bass. Though I’m sure it varies greatly.

Yes i saw that too about the Beef and have checked for 3 months now and the Western menu is Beef or Salmon every single time i check..

the Japanese meal is cold fish right i think its like a Box meal?

I was thinking order the Vegeterian and i would think maybe i can get a japanese box also or instead of since they probably have extra although who knows and i know the Asian airlines dont like substitutions or special requests so this may not work. I just dont eat Beef and i hate salmon lol

I do eat beef but will avoid fillets on a plane (it is so hard to cook a decent fillet in a convection oven or whatever they use) and will eat salmon but it is sooo often poorly cooked (not only on planes!) that I can’t stand it. I would think the Japanese meal probably includes a warm main. I would just call. Find out your options. While they may not allow you to reserve chicken, they can at least tell you your options. I can’t speak for JAL, having never flown them (yet), but I’ve never had a problem in CX J asking for and getting substitutions. But sitting in the mini-cabin (rows 11/12 helps).

I really enjoyed my Japanese meal on JAL J. Wouldn’t hesitate to order it again!
