Apparently ANA and IHG have this promotion where just by having registered with both companies’ loyalty programs you can apply for ANA Platinum status.

It’s been rolling around some Spanish and Portuguese speaking forums for the past couple of days.

Many people report having actually received ANA Platinum status by just signing up to both programs and filling the form.

How is this even possible? It reminds me of the rush for Aegean status from a few years ago.

I just applied! They’re saying they’re giving away ANA Milage Club Platinum Status, which is Star Alliance Gold? Not sure if this is legit, but I still applied! I’ll let you know if it works!! Would be cool to get free Star Alliance lounge access!

Interesting. It [I]says[/I] it’s targeted, but I still got a confirmation that I’d been upgraded. Will take 6-8 weeks to know for sure, I suppose.

I wouldn’t try this if you have status or points with ANA or IHG, as the terms do say they can cancel your account for improper use of this promo.
