involuntary downgrade for AA award ticket request by CX
Dear Lucky
i use the AA miles for the First class travel from BKK-HKG-ORD for CX flights
both flight are 77W and First class available and I was confirmed with seat marked.
Unfortunately, when i checked the booking in CX website today (22 Dec mid night) for the BKK-HKG leg departed on 23 Dec night, I found that I was involuntary downgrade to business class.
I checked with CX agent if there is any aircraft changes and they replied no, thus I call AA agent afterwards. AA agent replied that CX suddenly denied for my confirmed booking on award ticket for BKK-HKG this leg from first class and downgrade me to business class. they cannot help as it is CX policy.
I just feel upset that CX really downgrade me because to open up more first class for available to sale (since i checked the CX website it is still available for reservation by cash!!!)
Is it common for CX practice?
That is strange. Do you have any emails with the original confirmation that says you were booked into First for both segments? I’d call up AA and ask them to get someone from CX on the phone at the same time to try and see what went wrong and how it can be corrected.
