International first to domestic coach lounge access?

International first to domestic coach lounge access?

  1. Anonymous Guest

I’m visiting Manila next month and was able to grab a Cathay first class award this week on the return. I am taking flight 888, which arrives at JFK at 6am, on my next leg home to DCA the agent was only able to book me in AA coach. Which I is fine with me since I could drive home with the layover necessary for a first class seat. I was wondering if I have access to the AA lounges?

Found a 3-year-old thread on FT that seems to indicate “no”, unless you can sweet-talk the AAngel into letting you in. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cathay-pacific-asia-miles/1077743-there-cx-arrivals-lounge-jfk-flying-f-j.html

Surprisingly, the rule is actually yes (ish). As noted in the link above, you wouldn’t be able to use the arrivals lounges, but since you’re on a same day international itinerary you would have access to the Admirals Club: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2014/08/25/know-lounge-access-international-itineraries/
