Hyatt free night certificates (Cat 1-7)

Hyatt free night certificates (Cat 1-7)

  1. ECR Gold

I have 2 free night certificates (the legacy ones valid at ANY Hyatt).

I’m trying to use them at the Hotel Martinez Cannes. The nights I want are bookable with points (25K/night) but the phone reps have said there system isnt showing inventory. Hotel’s Reservation Dept is claiming certificates have a separate inventory, but am I wrong that any night that is bookable with points for a standard room should also be bookable with certificates?

It seems they might be playing games with room titles (lowest room is officially “standard room” but for the nights I want the room is called “one king bed” with the same exact specs – smaller than all other room types).

I’ve been on the phone twice and emailed hotels in house reservations dept already, just want to know whether its worth it to have Hyatt’s main bookings line to try and get them to open space or if my understanding of the certificates is inaccurate.

I believe that the certificate can be used if there are points nights available. Are you sure you’re not trying to book for dates past the expiration date of the certificate?

Nope, doesn’t expire for another 3 months after my stay.

Front desk agent apparently said its a common issue and the in house reservation can fix it, but so far the actual in-house reservations guy is trying to get me to pay cash.
