Hyatt Award Cancellation – Are Points Returned?

Hyatt Award Cancellation – Are Points Returned?

  1. Salathiel New Member

I’m close to making a multi-room points-reservation for my family at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico. It would be later in the year, but if COVID-19 has not improved for transportation or in Puerto Rico and we need to cancel, will our points be returned?
I ask because the Hyatt site seems to indicate that it’s up to the property involved. I hope that’s not the case! What is the general Hyatt policy? Or what is the practice at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico?
    Thank you!

For what it’s worth I’ve always, always had my points returned as soon as I cancelled with Hyatt (and I cancelled many times). I am unaware of property specific policies though, but I find that surprising. You can simply give them a call or ping Hyatt on Twitter to confirm – they are super responsive.
