Here is my situation: there are three of us flying JFK-LHR on a Saturday in May on deeply discounted economy class tickets. Metal is AA and a 77W. When I booked the flights a couple of months ago, I requested that we all be upgraded using SWU from my account. What are some suggestions for improving our odds of being upgraded? Do you know if AA releases inventory one seat at a time, making it virtually impossible for the three of us to get upgraded (it’s all-or-nothing, right, since we are in the same PNR?) Any other thoughts?
